2/5/2018

Nompumelelo Xulu, a 29-year-old female from uMlazi in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Raised by a single mother with 2 siblings, her dream was to start her own business so she can be able to make a living and assist her mother and provide for her family. After finding out about the NYDA through a friend, she decided to approach the NYDA branch in Durban to enquire about the products and services offered by the agency.

“I was advised by a friend that the NYDA offers grants to young entrepreneurs like myself who need assistance with establishing their businesses. I then visited their office in Durban and where the assistance from the team was warm and humbling” says Ms Xulu.
Nompumelelo went through the process of applying for the NYDA Grant Funding to the value of R50 000 to buy office equipment, office furniture, branding and office space which was approved in November 2017. She now runs a Property & Conveyancing Law Firm called NS Xulu Attorneys situated in the upmarket Umhlanga in north of Durban. She currently employs 3 people on a full-time basis and intends to grow the business and open another branch in Gauteng.
I would like to thank the NYDA Durban branch for their exceptional service; their assistance was humbling and greatly appreciated. There’s nothing that inspires me than a walk-in client who come to me requiring assistance with their conveyancing queries. I am marketing my law firm and plan to work with cooperatives and municipalities and to start registering mortgage bonds in the deeds office” says Nompumelelo Xulu.
