NYDA Beneficiary: Mbulelo Basil Ngomana
The 29-year-old Mbulelo Basil Ngomana from Brakpan in Johannesburg completed his Diploma in Graphic Design in 2017.
His passion for Photography grew when he worked as an intern for a Video Editing company. He decided to turn his passion into a business by becoming a Freelance Photographer, using hired equipment. Mbulelo later heard from a friend about the NYDA and, he decided to visit the Johannesburg Branch to seek further information.
The branch enrolled him on the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP), which is aimed at creating a conducive environment for young entrepreneurs to access relevant entrepreneurship skills, knowledge, values and attitudes for their businesses. The programme offers entrepreneurship trainings that responds appropriately and adequately to the market and business needs of the young people.
After successfully completing the EDP, the young aspiring entrepreneur received non-financial assistance through the NYDA’s Voucher Programme. The NYDA initially assisted Mbulelo with designing a new website for his business, Blizzerd PTY. The NYDA Grant Funding of R37 060,00 to purchase professional Photography equipment was subsequently awarded to him.
Mbulelo is able to save money since he no longer needs to outsource the tools of trade. His business offers, Photography, Marketing, Graphic design services and Branding. Blizzerd PTY currently has two full-time employees.
