Youth Enterprise Rebuilding Fund

The recent outbreak of violence in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal has devastated the South African economy. In our efforts to rebuild our economy, the National Youth Development Agency introduced the Youth Enterprise Rebuilding Fund.

The objective of the fund was to rebuild the economy with the focus on youth-owned enterprises that had been impacted through looting or demolished business structures.

Applications were open from 26 July 2021 to 30 July 2021

Qualifying Criteria:

  • Youth between the age of 18 to 35 years
  • Residing in South Africa
  • Operate business in KwaZulu-Natal or Gauteng
  • Require the grant for building repairs or stock replenishment
  • Operate formally as micro enterprise
  • Proof of trading space that has been affected – evidence that trading space was allocated and the business was trading therefrom prior to the unrest
  • Provide proof that they were not insured for damages
  • SAPS Case Number
