At the NYDA we understand that youth that are still in school need tools quite early on in their high school careers to help them make sound decisions regarding the path they will walk after school. Some may already have left prematurely due to unforeseen circumstances, but these pages are still relevant to them. We’ve divided the information in this section into career guidance, our access points, and our outreach service. They are all designed to provide access to information; Career Guidance and Information has information on self-assessment to establish what your particular aptitudes are and how this can be appropriately channeled into a career, as well as content on how to go about the job search and entrepreneurship as a career choice. You will find numerous guides and fact sheets on Finding Work, Starting a Business and Voluntarism here. For those interested in business you can access 100 `How to Start a Business’ guides ranging from starting a restaurant to a car-wash.
If you would like to visit one of our access points to speak one-on-one with an information agent – we call them infomediaries – you will find your nearest location under Youth Advisory Centres. Our Outreach vans, which we fondly call MYACS – Mobile Youth Advisory Centres – traverse the country, especially hard-to-reach areas sharing information on NYDA products and services. You can also enquire online if a MYAC is available for your event. The form is included under the Outreach section.
If you have any further queries or comments on this section, please feel free to email us on Enquire Online, and a helpful and friendly infomediary will get back to you.
