photographerDue to the economic meltdown in the past year Monnapule Bodumela’s contract as an assistant train driver was not renewed. Instead of giving up, the 33-year-old took a giant leap by going into business and opening Buttie’s Video and Photo business, a small business specializing in video an photography.

Entrepreneur finally has plan for his business, thanks to Voucher Programme

Jumping castles, waterslides, kiddie’s chairs and table and photoboards. These are just some of the products and services that Michael Nhlapo’s events company offers. If it were not for the Business Consultancy Voucher Programme that the NYDA offers, Nhlapo would still not have a business plan for his events company based in Secunda, Mpumalanga.

Voucher client has big plans to expand his business

Phumlani Mbanjwa and his partner, Cynthia Ntswaki Masilela own a funeral parlour with storage space enough to accommodate 20 bodies. They started with one hearse but now have four – two private cars as well as two mortuary vans.

Young entrepreneur takes on the beauty industry

beautisalonYoung and driven, Pontsho Kopung (25) is the owner of Setsoto Hair and Beauty Salon. Based in Botshabelo, Bloemfontein, the salon offers a wide range of beauty treatments including manicures and pedicures. The road to success was not easy for the third prize winner of the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) Mangaung youth-owned successful business; she ventured into a number of things before she discovered her true passion.

Former taxi driver excels in business

Jabu Baloyi (27) has proven that with a lot of drive and persistence anything is possible, after moving from one venture to the next he has finally found his niche and now runs a successful tent, chairs and table rental business in Giyani, Limpopo. -  Refilwe Mphane reports
