NYDA Kick-Starts the New Year with Outreach and Dialogue Sessions in the Eastern Cape
The Office of the Executive Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson kick-started 2018 by visiting different communities in the Eastern Cape to provide a platform for information dissemination and to address the challenges of unemployment and skills development among young people. These events started from the 06th January 2018 and are expected to run till the 15th of January 2018 under the theme “Taking NYDA to Young People”.
The NYDA Executive Chairperson Sifiso Mtsweni and the Deputy Executive Chairperson Bavelile Hlongwa and other NYDA Board members were part of these events and exposed young people to the available opportunities to help them get the required skills which will enable them to actively participate in the mainstream economy of the country.
These events also included visits to youth-headed households in KwaZakhele and Enkuselweni Place of Safety in Port Elizabeth, a Youth Dialogue and Information Sharing Session at Lingelihle Community Hall in Cradock, Campus visits at Nelson Mandela University and the University of Fort Hare, Outreach and Information Session at Kwa-Nonkqubela Community Hall in Alexandria, and the Back to School Campaign at Ntabankulu Senior Secondary School in Butterworth amongst others.
