Welcome to the 17th World Festival of Youth and Students in South Africa


The World Festival of Youth and Students is the most significant and important youth international event. It is significant because of the numbers (youth and students delegates) it attracts to conferences all over the world and important because of the issues it raises and the impact they have in shaping policies of the world and governments of world.


The festivals are organized every four years in different countries all over the world by the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) which is the body responsible for political oversight and overall planning and accounting. WFDY has been in existence for 65 years.


In 2010, the 17th World Festival of Youth and Students will be held in Pretoria, City of Tshwane, South Africa from 13 – 21 December.

- Day 7 of the Festival: Middle East Day (Programme)

20 December 2010

- Day 8 of the Festival: The struggle of the youth of the world against racism, xenophobia and discrimination for a world of solidarity and friendship

21 December 2010

- Day 9 of the Festival: 9h00 – March for Peace from Church Square and 12h00: Closing ceremony at Union Buildings, Tshwane
