1. Youth Co-operatives Development Procgramme
 
The process for providing support to youth co-operators and cooperatives is as follows:-
  • Conducting Gap analysis and Needs assessment (including Training needs) to identify performance gaps and factors that affect the co-operative performance.
The following levels are analysed:-
  • Organizational analysis: to determine the co-operative adherence to policy, by-laws and legal compliance (including adherence to co operative principles), basic line of business, management strategies, planned human capital, analysis of micro & macro environment etc;
  • Process analysis: to verify production and productivity, market assessment, available and/or required resources & cost implications;
  • Job performer analysis: analysis to determine adequacy of job performer’s knowledge, skills and ability to perform his/her duties
  • Inter-activeness analysis: to determine individual’s persona, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, interpersonal and communication skills, intellectual, and leadership skills etc.
 
2. Facilitating business development support through voucher services including the following:-
  • Business registration, Business Plan Development,
  • Marketing Strategy, Marketing Plan and Marketing tools
  • Bookkeeping and financial administration
  • Tendering and many other vouchers

3. Facilitating capacity building to enhance management efficiency including the following:-
  • Relevant technical and Entrepreneurship training
  • Co-operative governance and Soft skills
  • Occupational Health and Safety, HACCP training
  • Productivity Improvement etc.

4. Eligibility

To qualify for the NYDA YCDP, the following criteria apply:
  • 100% youth (14-35 years) and Minimum Five members
  • South African citizen and permanent residence
  • Potentially income-generating business and shows prospect for growth
  • Registered co-operative or willing to register
  • Acceptable credit record
  • Adhere to co-operative principles
