Profile of Dimakatso Masiteng

Dimakatso Masiteng is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), where she leads the organisation’s digital transformation, ICT strategy, and technology innovation agenda. She is responsible for driving the adoption of digital solutions that enhance service delivery, improve operational efficiency, and expand access to opportunities for young people across South Africa.
With over a decade of experience across the public and private sectors, Dimakatso has built a strong track record in systems implementation, enterprise solutions, and ICT governance. She has played a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of NYDA’s in-house open-source ERP system, which has enabled the Agency to digitise key programmes and improve transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making.
Her leadership and contribution to the technology sector have been widely recognised. She was named Tech Champion of the Year at the CIO Awards Africa 2024, a finalist in the TransUnion Rising Star Awards 2025, and a finalist in the Women in Tech category at Afrika Tech Week 2024. Under her leadership, NYDA was also awarded the CYSEC Excellence in Cybersecurity Governance Award 2025.
In recognition of her contributions to the tech industry, Dimakatso was nominated as a finalist for the prestigious 2024 Afrika Tech: Women in Tech Award.
Dimakatso holds an Honours degree in Computer Science, is a Chartered Chief Information Officer (CCIO), and has recently completed her MBA at the Johannesburg Business School. She is passionate about leveraging technology to drive youth empowerment, digital inclusion, and innovation within the public sector.
